Things We Are Thankful For

Fall trees and thanksgiving as a Wordpress web developer

Happy Thanksgiving! Here at Alchemy + Aim, we all feel incredibly thankful to work with a talented team, lovely collaborators, and inspiring clients. In the spirit of gratitude and reflection, today our team shares some things we are thankful for this year.

Brandi Bernoskie and Orange Tabby Cat

Brandi, Owner + Chief Alchemist

I am so grateful for the incredible team here at Alchemy+Aim. When I started working as a freelance developer, I couldn’t have imagined any of this — the awesome clients we work with, how supportive everyone is of each other, how much fun we have doing what we do. I’m particularly thankful that I was able to take my first vacation in 5 years this fall, and my team handled everything while I was away. Bonus: I get to pet cat bellies all day while I’m on calls. Yeah, life is pretty good.

Adam, Tech Wizard + Problem Solver

I am thankful for my family. Time with them is the best part of my day, and I don’t want take it for granted, especially while my kids are young and growing too fast.

Tehya, Client Care Maven + Spark Coordinator

This year, I am grateful for my growing girl and her excitement around science. It is so inspiring to watch her push through challenges that come up, like when she built this robot (that moves) all on her own. It has been so fun as she gets older and more competent to watch her blossom into her such a fun person, and to empower her on all things STEM that she’s so excited by!

I am most grateful for the support of my family; not just my immediate family, but my work family and my friends as well. Their love, support and encouragement keeps me grounded and helps me strive to be the very best I can be.

A year ago I would have struggled coming up with something to be thankful for. This year I can say I’m thankful for having many reasons to be thankful! I started the year off with a career change so that I could work from home and have the freedom to travel. I met someone special in the summer, and enjoyed an amazing 5-day adventure exploring caves, zip-lining down a mountain, visiting Crater Lake during a meteor shower, mountain biking through a redwood forest, and ending up at the coast. I moved twice this year and everything is finally coming together. To finish it all off I met Brandi a few months ago and learned about Alchemy+Aim. Encouraging a positive and flexible lifestyle is exactly what I was looking for, and my skill set is just what was needed. I’m thrilled to bring my talent and years of experience to an already fantastic team. I look forward to the rest of the year with Alchemy+Aim, and beyond!

Martha, Project Manager

There is so much I am thankful for; my health, job, friendships, but the one thing I am most thankful for is my grandmother. She was diagnosed with cancer a little over a year ago and battled through it and is now cancer free. She is my rock and I am so incredibly thankful she is ok and is slowly getting healthy again. Her experience has reminded me that faith and hope is real and can surpass anything.

Samantha, Front-End Developer + Spark Goddess

I think what I am most thankful for this year is the love, support and encouragement I’ve felt from my friends and family. It’s been a year of big changes for me, but I’ve felt confident in my decisions and proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish entirely because of their support and belief in me.

Beth, Developer

I’m so thankful to have this little guy in my life. He was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and just came back from having radioiodine treatment, which kills the tumor that causes it. It was hard to have him gone for days, but it’s even harder now because I’m not supposed to touch him much because he’s radioactive for two weeks! He’s such a lover, so I’m counting down the days until I can cuddle with him, and so thankful that he’ll be well again soon.

I am so grateful for the opportunities that I have had this year and my fantastically supportive family and friends. I couldn’t be happier to be working for Alchemy + Aim and I deeply appreciate the ability to work remotely, because I value travel so much! One of the things I am most thankful for this year is all of the wonderful places I was able to visit, including my favorite place in the world: Monhegan Island, Maine. I got to see some world-class sunsets all year!

Brian, Developer

I’m thankful for my cats. When I’m having a rough day and feel down about life and the universe, having these bundles of purrs jump on my lap and demand attention cheers me right back up
